What it is and how it is specified

Cold rolled coil is hot rolled coil that has been pickled and re-rolled cold to a tighter thickness tolerance and a smoother surface. In Pakistan it is the input for appliance bodies, furniture, drums, cable tray, ducting and general pressings, and it is the substrate mills galvanise into GP coil.

Grade choice is driven by how deeply the part is drawn. SPCC and DC01 suit simple bends and mild forming; deeper draws call for DC03 or DC04. Full-hard material is not annealed and will crack if you form it, so confirm the temper on the mill test certificate before ordering.

Duty and origin

Cold rolled coil of Chinese origin carries anti-dumping duty in Pakistan, and in 2026 the National Tariff Commission extended that measure to widths above 1,250 mm. Locally rolled ISL material is not subject to it. That duty gap is often the deciding factor between imported and domestic CRC — see local versus imported flat steel.
