What it is and how it is specified

Prime imported galvanized coil widens the specification range available in Pakistan beyond what the two domestic mills roll. Prime means first-quality mill material with a certificate, as distinct from secondary or defect-graded coil.

On imported coil the paperwork matters more than on local material. Check the heat number on the mill test certificate against the coil tag, and check that coating mass is stated on the total-both-sides basis rather than per side — that single ambiguity is a factor-of-two error.

Duty and origin

Galvanized coil from China carries anti-dumping duty in Pakistan at mill-specific rates, with a higher residual rate applying to any exporter not individually named in the determination.
