What it is and how it is specified

GP coil is cold rolled steel hot-dip galvanised with zinc. It is the default material for roofing, purlins, ducting, cable tray, water tanks and general outdoor fabrication in Pakistan.

The number that decides service life is the zinc coating mass, not the thickness. Coating classes are quoted as Z numbers in grams per square metre across both surfaces, so a Z275 coil carries about 137.5 g/m² per face, roughly 19.3 microns. Duty and origin

Galvanized coil of Chinese origin carries anti-dumping duty in Pakistan at mill-specific rates, with a higher residual rate for any exporter not individually named. Locally produced ISL material does not.
